What's Changing?
The renovation project is designed to modernize and expand our new library, making it a welcoming, functional, and accessible space for everyone in the community. Keep in mind, the 123 Exchange Street building is an historic, century old building. is Here's what's in store:
Updated Interior Design: We're reimagining our library’s layout to provide more flexible, comfortable spaces for reading, studying, and community programs. However, we aren’t sacrificing the history and charm of the building, we’ll work hard to preserve what is feasible.
Expanded Program Areas: More room for educational workshops, events, and activities for children, teens, and adults. These programs are not possible in the current library.
Modern Technology: With upgraded computer stations, digital resources, and Wi-Fi access, the library will be better equipped to serve the evolving needs of our community.
Increased Accessibility: Improvements to ensure that everyone, including people with disabilities, can easily navigate and enjoy the library. We want to create a welcoming and accessible space for the entire community.
Energy Efficiency: We're integrating sustainable building practices to reduce the library's environmental impact and operating costs.
